As the question of copyright issue has been posed by fans of the Dungeons and Dragons games and others, we would like to clarify our ownership of this music and our relationship to the Dungeons and Dragons properties.

When CSG/Midiot Music created the scores for these games, things like CDR burners, affordable laser printers, MP3.Com and internet sales did not exist. Distribution of an audio CD of this music, outside of their respective games, would have been prohibitively expensive for TSR Inc. (then the makers of the Dungeons and Dragons) and therefore we negotiated for the right to create and distribute the CD at our own expense.

Further, the music for these games was created as an "Independent Contractor", with a non-exclusive perpetual synchronization and master license granted to TSR, its successors and assignees, to use the music in conjunction with their games. The music, separate from the games, remains our property.

Flash forward to today - when it finally makes sense to distribute this music ourselves - and thus "Songs of the Dragon" is released to the public.

The music was born out of Dungeons and Dragons rich history and excellent product, but there is no formal relationship between our CD, "Songs of the Dragon" and TSR Inc., Wizards of the Coast Inc., or Hasbro Inc.. This is simply one of those rare occasions where an artist was able to protect the rights to his creation and now technology is allowing him to share it with the world.
